Alix Malthouse

Rahr Malting Canada, Ltd., located in Alix, Alberta, was constructed in the middle of Alberta’s prime barley-growing region in 1993. This central location ensures both dependable supplies of premium quality malting barley and proximity to our key markets. This modern and efficient tower malthouse has an annual capacity of 140,000 MT.  Only the best Canadian malting barley, recognized around the world for its brewing quality, goes into Rahr’s products.

The Alix plant utilizes the latest in European and North American technologies. From the laboratory to the final shipping areas, every part of the plant was designed to meet the highest standards of hygiene, production quality and efficiency.  The end result is consistently superb malt for our customers. The facility is serviced by truck, by the Canadian Pacific and the Canadian National Railroads, assuring efficient and reliable service.

The Alix plant is an ISO 22000:2018 registered facility.
